The Distance Derby (also called the Long-Distance Derby) is an association football rivalry between Perth Glory and Wellington Phoenix.[1] It is known for having one of the longest road trips in a domestic league in world football.[2] The distance between the two clubs is 5,255 kilometers (3,365 miles).[3][4] When the rivalry originated, it was thought of as a joke due to the mass distance between these two sides however in the 2015–16 A-League season they decided for the winner of the game to receive a trophy which they would name the Long Distance Derby Cup.[3][5]

Though primarily used as a term for the rivalry between Phoenix and Glory men's teams, the same name has also been applied to matches in the Women's A-League since Wellington Phoenix joined the league in 2022.[6][7]
