The Sum Of All Things is the eighth full-length studio album released by the American rock band Tantric. The album was released on July 23, 2021 via Cleopatra Records.[2]

Background

At the end of 2019 and a very busy touring schedule that saw the band headlining their very first European tour, Tantric went into 2020 writing new music for their then-untitled 8th studio album and announced new tour dates to promote their upcoming new music.[citation needed]

On March 16, 2020, the band announced their entire spring tour would be postponed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.[3] Once the tour was postponed, Tantric began shifting focus to writing and recording new music.[citation needed]

Throughout 2020, the pandemic hindered Tantric from touring and required the band to postpone most tour dates for the entire year, with a select few shows being allowed in states with lenient coronavirus restrictions and lockdowns. In late 2020 and early 2021, Tantric revealed that during the lockdown they were able to finish a significant amount of new material for their new record. In early 2021 it was revealed that the band recruited long-time producer Chuck Alkazian to produce the new album.[citation needed]

Release

On June 23, 2021, Tantric released the lead single from the new album, "Living Here Without You".

Along with the release of the lead single, the band gave an announcement that the new album is titled "The Sum Of All Things" with the release date set for July 23, 2021. The album was released as planned on July 23, 2021 via Cleopatra Records. "The Sum Of All Things" features 11 brand new tracks and also features three bonus tracks being a cover of Chris Stapleton's song "Whiskey And You" and features a new re-recorded version of their 2001 hit song "Breakdown" which is also the band’s biggest hit to date, also features a new re-recorded version of their 2008 hit song "Down and Out."
