The Ugandan Wire[1] is an online news website in Uganda covering information across politics, entertainment, tourism and sports among others.[2] The website was founded in 2019 and belongs to Coilnet Enterprises Ltd, registered in Uganda as a limited liability company.[3]

The Ugandan Wire has offices along Muwafu Curve in Ntinda, a Kampala City Suburb.[4]


2021 Elections Coverage[edit]

The website, along with other online news outlets like Chimp Reports and Soft Power News was in December 2020 criticized for spreading what internet users termed as National Resistance Movement (NRM) propaganda ahead of the 2021 Presidential and Parliamentary Elections.[5]
