History

The Empire was founded in 2020 by Emperor Nick I with 3 islands and a large incline of citizens applying for passports and visas. Nick made the nation with 3 islands in the Pacific claimed under 2 territories, Numa and Mohi. In 2023, the nation announced an upgrade to its security, websites, passports, licenses and stamps, all expected to be finished in 2024-2025. The Government offers passports to anyone who passes the 250 background checks.

The Covid Crisis

Covid-19 caused the country to go into complete lockdown, which caused a crisis meaning the country's GDP fell significantly and caused the stocks to crash. The country entered a state of great depression, making it very hard to buy products such as fish or meat. The other micronations in the region helped by donating supplies and rebuilding economies such as ours.

The Great War Of Derasos

In July 2023, civil unrest broke out between The Empire of Bora Bora and the Kingdom of Sealandia (Formally The Micronations of Saratoga and not to be confused with The Principality of Sealand) due to issues with trade and ecommerce and with Sealandia taking and treating POW's inhumanely. Within a week's time, both nations prepared for full-out war before The Empire of Bora Bora sent its troops to attack the capital of Sealandia on the island of Derasos. In August 2023, The Empire had captured all key ports and more than half of the island before reinforcements came and pushed The Boranese Armed Forces back to the capital of Daritro. After much discussion, the Council of Pacific Micronations decided to send all its troops to help capture Derasos, which they did. On September the 16th, The Empire of Bora Bora, with the help of The Council of Pacific Micronations, captured Derasos and helped free its citizens.

Politics

The Empire of Bora Bora is a part of The Council of Pacific Micronations, which serves as a senate for the country and other countries. Every 4 years, each participating nation elects a leader to be the leader of the council for a term (4 years), and whichever leader with the most votes will be the Leader of The Council. Each nation meets every week on a Friday to discuss new laws, relations with other countries, imports and exports and more. Currently, 11 micronations are listed in the council, with the newest micronation (Number 11) joining on the 23rd of August 2023. The next election is October 1st 2023.

Immigration

Anybody can apply for a passport via the government website, once accepted they will be given a test that must be completed to enter. This test includes basic vocabulary of Boranese and their knowledge of the constitution.

Military

The Boranese Imperial Armed Forces make up the military and defence forces of the empire. It consists of the Boranese Imperial Army, Boranese Imperial Navy and Boranese Imperial Air Force.

The Emperor and Grand Moth's sit as commander-in-chief of the armed forces and as the supreme military authority of the empire. The emperor can command the armed forces and commissions all its officers.

The central government's Ministry of Defence also outlines defence policy including that concerning the armed forces.

The Red Guards protect the palace and all senators in Bora Bora.
