Theolonius Feargus Kelly (born September 17, 1998), professionally known as Theolonius Kelly, is a New Zealand Musical Artist. He was also known under his middle name Feargus during the beginning of his career. His breakthrough came when his instrumental cover of "Star Shopping" by Lil Peep went viral on Spotify.[1]

Early Life[edit]

Theolonius Kelly was born 1998 in Hamilton, New Zealand to poet and guitarist parents.[2] He began learning music production in 2012 from his Uncle.[3]

Career[edit]

Theo first released the single Otikes in 2015 on YouTube. The single was followed by Flora and Fauna, an EP that received radio attention in 2016. Theo left his final year of High School to pursue music, selling CD’s and playing live shows including the live album A Short Performance (Live).[4]

In September 2018 Theo signed a Publishing deal with Jan Hellreigel's New Zealand Company Songbroker Music Publishing.[5]

In 2020 Theo collaborated with Lil B[6] for the single Hope, and Lord Narf for the single Blood Donor; Blood Donor receiving a positive review from London’s The Pit London.[7]

December 2020 TV3 New Zealand licensed 5 of Theo's songs for Documentary Mini-Series Taranaki Hard.[8] 2020 also saw the release of xo, his most popular album to date garnering over 6 million streams.[1]

During 2021 Theo released the album Hollywood (Deluxe) and the Single Ocean of Emptiness. Ocean of Emptiness was described by his then Publisher Jan Hellriegel as “a beautiful electronic orchestral track".[9]

During 2022 Theo released the compilation Album The Rest, a collection of previously unreleased material; some previously supplied to New Zealand DJ's for radio play.[10]Theo also released a remix of Ukrainian Rapper Layaboutguy's single Страшный Сон.[11] Theo during 2022 also produced South African Rapper Gyre's single Fem Physique.[12]

2023 Theo released the single Pray with London Rapper Kxne, and the Compilation album Telstar. Theo during 2023 also released the alt-pop single "How Do You Do It Without Making It Nauseatingly Extravagant".[13]
