There used to be a different time (Russian: Раньше было другое время, romanized: Ran'she bylo drugoiye vremya) is the first professional work of director Aleksei Balabanov.[1], who was at that time working as an assistant for the Sverdlovsk Film Studio[2][3]. The film is an educational work, created while Balabanov was studying on Higher Courses for scriptwriters and directors[4][5]

Filming took place in a Sverdlovsk restaurant[6]. The title of the film is a quote from the song No-one will believe me (Russian: Никто мне не поверит, romanized: Nikto mnye ne poverit) by Vyacheslav Butusov.

Plot[edit]

Domestic conflicts between random people unfold while the first hits from Vyacheslav Butusov and the band "Nautilius Pompilius" play in the background.

Cast[edit]

Soundtrack[edit]
