Thiago Piraju (born 6 April 1988) is a Brazilian footballer. He recently played for the Italian club Luogosanto, where he plays as a midfielder. He started his career at Brazilian club Itararé.
Career
He started out at Associação Atlética Itararé (São Paulo) in 2007, playing in the reserve squad, before being promoted to the first team to make his league debut. After playing in other Brazilian clubs Portuguesa Londrinense and Clube Atlético Guaçuano.
In 2013, he agreed to a deal to join Laos club Lanexang United F.C. mid-season. He spent time at Thailand club Nakhon Phanom F.C.
After a few seasons in Asia, he decided to return to Brazil and played at clubs Morrinhos,[1] Icasa, Centro Esportivo Força e Luz, Humaitá,[2] Araioses Futebol Clube and Sociedade Imperatriz. In 2015, Piraju won (Moio Pace) with Imperatriz the Campeonato Maranhense against Sampaio Corrêa, the most successful team in this league.[3]
In June 2019, he started his European career at the Italian club Policoro. In August 2020, he signed a contract with Gallipoli Football and one year later he agreed to a deal to join another Italian club, US Tortolì Calcio 1953.[4]
On 6 August 2022, he signed a contract with Italian club Monastir Kosmoto and in December 2022 it was announced he had a deal with another Italian club, ASD Luogosanto.[5][6]
