Thomas Hext was a British Esquire, notable for serving as both Deputy Lieutenant and Justice of the Peace for the county of Cornwall.[1][2][3]
Family
Thomas was the son of Captain John Hext and Elizabeth Staniforth. His mother was the daughter of Thomas Staniforth, former Lord Mayor of Liverpool.
His uncle Samuel Staniforth was also a former Lord Mayor of Liverpool, and his grandfather Samuel Staniforth was Esquire of Darnall Hall.[4]
Thomas' brother Charles Staniforth Hext was also a military Captain who served and died in Punjab, India.
