Thomas Wangsmo (/vaːŋgsmʊ/; born October 18, 1980) is a Norwegian screenwriter and film director. He studied at Arts University Bournemouth (then The Arts Institute) in England where he received a BA (Hons) in Film Production in 2005, and Concordia University in Montreal, Canada where he received an MFA in Film Production in 2010. During his master’s degree he made the short film Amor (2009), which won the EFA Award for Best Short Film at Film Fest Gent in 2009, and was nominated for the Best Short Film Award at the European Film Awards in 2010.[1]
In 2012, Wangsmo debuted with his first feature film Into the Dark The film participated in the competition for best first films at the Montreal World Film Festival in 2012, where it won the Bronze Zenith Award.[2]
