Three Phase Operation
The "Three Phase Operation" was an Arab plan to prevent the partition of Mandatory Palestine into a Jewish and an Arab state.[1]
The Plan[edit]
1.Eviction of the Jews from quarters where the Jews and Arabs have lived as neighbours[2]
2. Isolation of Jews of the north coastal plain and the southern desert by driving Arab wedges between them[3]
3. Final drives to exterminate or subjugate Jewish communities such as Tel Aviv, Jerusalem's Rehavia, Haifa's Hacarmel and hundreds of Jewish villages and settlements[4]
Aftermath[edit]
In Jerusalem for instance, Jews already had fled or were expelled from upper Bakaa and Katamon. The city of Talbieh was still mixed "and that's next," the Arabs said.
"If the Jews don't move, we'll chase them out."[1]
