Tieran Fate Cline (born September 25, 1991), better known by his stage name Tieran, is an American Hip hop recording artist and record producer. Raised in Lancaster, Ohio, Tieran initially gained recognition as a rapper following the release of his debut EP, Never Had a Choice, in late 2017.[1] The EP caught the attention of Columbus, Ohio’s “#1 Station for Hip hop and R&B”, Power 107.5 FM, who crowned him the coveted “Columbus Street Heat Artist”. [2] In 2018, after 5 years in the making, Tieran released his first album Deep End which was featured in The Columbus Dispatch, Columbus Alive, and The Lantern.[3][4][5] Stylistically, Tieran is known to be “witty, hilarious, and self-deprecating in an entertaining and thought-provoking [way]” however his first album was more “serious about [his] mental-health struggles”[6][3] Tieran has performed alongside national acts such as KYLE, Hopsin, and Joyner Lucas. [7] He has also performed at the second annual 2x2 Hip-Hop Festival as one half of the duo T&J. [8] [9] Tieran attended Ohio State University majoring in Civil engineering.[3] While attending, he was featured on OSU’s student television station Buckeye TV. [10] Tieran’s productions have been seen on projects alongside musicians such as Blueprint and J. Rawls.[4][9] His production work has also been featured on the BET Hip Hop Award-nominated website 2DOPEBOYZ. [11][12]

Never Had a Choice (EP)[edit]
Never Had a Choice is the first extended play by Tieran. It was released on November 17th, 2017. The project was completely produced by sLeh. [1] Shortly after the release of Never Had a Choice, the song "Side to Side" won Power 107.5’s coveted “Columbus Street Heat” competition. [2]
Critical reception[edit]
Writing for Fly Paper Magazine, Earl Hopkins gave “Never Had a Choice” 3.4 out of 5 stars saying “It encompasses cohesive and substance-filled content.” [30] He goes on to say, “Tieran’s story is ultimately what carries Never Had a Choice. Throughout the EP he reflects on his rise as a white, Lancaster-raised rap artist. Tieran encapsulates his life through the perspective of a man that’s settled in middle-class America, but one whose passion outweighs other’s expectations. This is his journey; he’s never had a choice.” [30]
