Tom Gun is a 1966 spy film directed by Terence Young. It was the 5th movie of the James Bond franchise starring Sean Connery. The movie began filming and production in late May, but was never released.
In the film, the agent 007 aka James Bond travels to investigate a terrorist threat in Nicaragua. He there learns of an underground hitman service, lead by and named after a mysterious Tom Gun.
Plot[edit]
After an MI6 building in Nicaragua is bombed, James Bond is sent to find out what happened. Once he arrives in Managua, he is met by a henchman of the mob called Tom Gun. Bond kidnaps and interrogates the chairmen of the board, and finds out the headquarters of Tom Gun is in Vietnam. He travels to Vietnam to meet and fight Tom Gun. The final scene is a close up of James's Bond's face after he realizes that Tom Gun is his estranged father.
Release[edit]
This movie was never released due to tensions in Vietnam and the escalation of the Vietnam War. When the new President of the United States Lyndon Johnson was elected in November, the project was abandoned.
