TourniquetX, also called TQX, is a band / group that was founded in 2017. TQX released their debut single entitled “The Day That You Moved On” featuring Australian singer-songwriter Sia in November 2017 and the group will release their debut album Global Intimacy in 2018.[1]

Singles

“The Day That You Moved On” is the first single that was released by TQX on ECA Records. The song features vocals by Sia and it is written by TQX and Sia. The group made a lyric video and a music video of The Day That You Moved On, which was released on 10 November 2017.[2][3]

According to an interview of TQX by NME, the song speaks of the pain of a breakup but also the realization that technology can rob relationships, real life, and the present moment. The group also said the unfolding reality of advancing technology is something that needs to be commented on.[4]

On 9 February 2018, TQX released the Abhi the Nomad & Ellis Miah Remix of The Day That You Moved On, which is their second single.[5] The music video of the song was released on 22 March 2018. [6]

The third single of TQX is called “When They Come For Us” and it features the vocals of Australian R&B recording artist Daniel Merriweather. The song was released on 5 April 2018 and the music video was released on 4 May 2018.[7][8]

Global Intimacy

Global Intimacy is the upcoming debut album by TQX and it is set to be released in 2018. According to NME, Global Intimacy will have featuring appearances from Sia Furler, Daniel Merriweather, Gabriel Winterfield (of Jagwar Ma), Cormega and players who have worked with David Bowie, D'Angelo and Jeff Buckley.[4]

“Text Me Back” is a confirmed upcoming song on Global Intimacy. It is written by TQX, Sia and American rappers Kool A.D. and Sirah. Kool A.D. and Sirah are the featured artists on this song and according to TQX the song will be released on 6 July 2018.[9][10]

The group has also confirmed they will release a collaboration with Genevieve Artadi, from Knower and another collaboration with Sia.[9]

In an interview with Triple J, TQX said the lyrics of their debut album are political, anti-brainwashing and looking at the scrolling zombies. The songs on the album are anti-technology and governmental bullying. Global Intimacy is a political statement and a pop album.[11]
