TradingView is a freemium software as a service (SaaS) company that provides a technical analysis platform and social networking site for traders and investors. It has offices in New York, London, Moscow, St Petersburg and Rostov-on-Don, and is valued at $3 billion.[1]

The company claims to have over 30 million active monthly users, with over 550 million all-time unique visitors from 180 countries[2]. It also claims to rank in the Alexa top 65 most visited sites in the world[3] and as the most popular investing website in the world by Similarweb.[4][not in citation given]

Team

TradingView was founded by Denis Globa (CEO), Stan Bokov (COO) and Konstantin Ivanov (CTO) in 2011. Together with Andrey Kirillov (CFO) they make up the executive leadership team.

Company history

TradingView was launched in September 2011 as a trading analysis social network.[5] In 2013 it was selected by Techstars to compete in its accelerator program in Chicago[6], where the company raised seed financing and opened up a path to contracts with Microsoft and CME[7].

In May 2017, TradingView was named Best Analysis Platform, Tool or App as part of Benzinga Global Fintech Awards 2017[8] and announced a partnership with global broker GAIN Capital.[9]

In May 2018, the company closed another round of venture capital investments of $37 million from several funds: Insight Venture Partners, DRW Venture Capital and Jump Capital[10], then in October 2021 TradingView completed a $298 million round of investment led by Tiger Global Management, valuing the company at $3 billion.[11]

The same year, the company launched a rebrand with global design group Pentagram[12][13] and announced ambassadorial partnerships with free climber Alex Honnold[14], adventurer Leo Houlding and snowboarder Caite Zeliff. It also announced commercial partnerships with global brokers Currency.com and OANDA.[15]

Uses

TradingView charts have been an acknowledged instrument for scientific research on market trends[16], namely for doctoral dissertations[17], discussion papers[18][19], journalism[20][21] and for international economic conferences[22]
