Trevor the Toad first appears in the Harry Potter franchise in the movie and book Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. He is Neville's pet toad, given to him by his Uncle, Algie Longbottom.[1] Trevor is a cane toad; he is brown, full of warts, and is always missing. On the first train ride to Hogwarts, on the Hogwarts Express, Hermione and Neville knock on every compartment in an attempt to locate Trevor. This is how the pair meets Harry Potter and Ronald Weasley, but unfortunately, they do not find Trevor. Upon arriving at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Neville is still without Trevor. When Professor McGonagall starts talking to all the first-year students, Trevor the toad croaks at her feet. Once Neville heard the noise, he rushed to the front of the room and crouched down at McGonagall's feet to retrieve Trevor. This earned him a stern look from McGonagall and some weird looks from his fellow students.
What happened to Trevor the Toad
Throughout their years at Hogwarts, Neville and Trevor made lots of memories. Most of these memories consisted of Neville casting unsuccessful spells on Trevor. Then Trevor stopped appearing in the Harry Potter franchise. It is uncertain what happened to Trevor, but it is rumoured that he escaped to live in the Great Lake.[2]
