Trick 'r Treat: Days of the Dead is a horror anthology comic book set within the Trick 'r Treat franchise, written by Michael Dougherty, Todd Casey, Zach Shields and Marc Andreyko and published by Legendary Comics.
Days of the Dead, like its film counterpart, is an anthology consisting of four Halloween-themed stories, with the recurring character being Sam, a mysterious trick-or-treating demon.[1]
Stories[edit]
Seed[edit]
The first chapter follows two star-crossed lovers from different sides of the witch hunt epidemic in Ireland during the early 1600s, whose fate proves that no amount of genocide can destroy the old ways and thus changes Halloween forever.
Corn Maiden[edit]
A tale about a young girl traveling with her father, who leads a group of pioneers venturing through the American frontier following the railroad boom of the mid 1800s, who stumbles upon a tribe of Indians. The young girl befriends one of the natives and learns a particular type of magic only available on Halloween, which becomes very useful when the pioneers bring darkness with them.
Echoes[edit]
A horror noir set in 1950s Los Angeles about a down-on-his-luck detective who is thrust into the bizarre missing case story of a woman involved with the supernatural amid a serial killer’s vicious rampage on a dark Halloween night.
Monster Mash[edit]
A "Monster Mash" has unleashed Halloween on a small town in present-day America, and two prankster boys' lives will never be the same as they bear witness to a dark ritual that no normal human was ever meant to see.
