The Tuscaloosa Lesbian Coalition was a community organizing group advocating for LGBTQ+ rights in Alabama founded by Marcia Winter and Rose Gladney in 1986.[1] The organization worked alongside students and faculty and the University of Alabama to garner community and support for lesbians in the area throughout the 1980s and 1990s. Their posters, meeting notes, and other organizing efforts are now held at The University of Alabama Libraries Special Collections.[1] Notable LGBTQ+ community contributions include efforts in organizing and attending the 1989 Inaugural Central Alabama Pride March.[2]
