UnionWave Entertainment Co., Ltd. (Hangul: 유니온 웨이브 엔터테인먼트; RR: Yunion Weibeu Enteoteinmeonteu) is a South Korea-based entertainment and artist management company founded in 2018 by Charles-Doan Fleury and Fabio Urso. The company is known as the first truly international K-Pop company..[1] UnionWave Entertainment is also known for its global auditions and multinational artists lineup.[2]
History[edit]
UnionWave Entertainment was founded on April 30, 2018 in Switzerland[3]. The company held global auditions from March to December 2019[4], including casting centers in Paris, London and Geneva.
In July 2019, UnionWave Entertainment hosted the first European K-Pop live audition, bringing together the 10 best European candidates in Paris[5]. First two members were selected, Nia and Miriam, the first Spanish and Italian artists to perform in the K-Pop industry[6][7][8]
The company then signed Gyeongmin, Sally, Najung and Chaerin early 2020[9]
UnionWave Entertainment first girl group was debuted on 31 October 2020.[10] [11][12]
Company value and investments[edit]
UnionWave Entertainment currently operates as an all-in-one structure, supporting all career stages of its artists. The reputation of the company is mainly attributed to its multiculturality and its desire to integrate more foreign artists into the Korean entertainment industry.[1]
The vision of the founders Charles-Doan Fleury and Fabio Urso is to act as a bridge between the Korean entertainment industry and global K-Pop fans.[4]
