United People is a minor Irish political party formed in 2015.[1] It has no representation at local or national level. It was founded in 2015 by Jeffrey Rudd, who was previously a member of Direct Democracy Ireland.[1] Rudd was due to contest the Louth constituency for the party at the 2016 general election,[2] but withdrew, citing "family and finance reasons".[3][not in citation given]
Its political stances include stated oppositions to Scientology,[4] to privatisation,[5] to water fluoridation,[6] to JobBridge,[7] and to the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership.[8]
In November 2017, the Standards in Public Office Commission stated that no statements of accounts had been received from United People, in breach of the Electoral Act.[9][10]
