An untitled Big City Greens film is currently in development. Based on the TV series of the same name by Chris and Shane Houghton, the film will be directed by Anna O'Brian, and is set to be released simultaneously on Disney+ and Disney Channel.

Development[edit]
On January 21, 2022, it was reported that a musical film based on the Disney Channel animated series Big City Greens is in development.[2] The film will be produced by Disney Television Animation.[2] Series writer and storyboard artist Anna O'Brian will helm the film, with series producer Michael Coughlin set to produce the project.[1] The script had already been written a year before its announcement.[3]
Writing[edit]
The Houston brothers said they wanted the movie to "feel like the series" while also using the larger format to explore a story that could not be featured in the series, feeling instead like "a big event" and "an spectale".[3]
Casting and voice recording[edit]
Most of the series' main cast are set to reprise their roles.[2] Voice recording for the film began by May 28, 2022.[4]
Music[edit]
Big City Greens composer Joachim Horsley is set to return to score the film.[2] The film is set to be a musical, a decision the Houston brothers made due to both their love for musical theater and them having enjoyed writing songs for the series.[5] Songs for the film were written during lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic.[3]
Release[edit]
The film is set to simultaneously release througth both Disney Channel and Disney+, througth it currently lacks a release date.[2]
