Uunchai is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language film written and directed by Sooraj Barjatya and jointly produced by Rajshri Productions, Mahaveer Jain Films and Boundless Media. The film features an ensemble cast of Amitabh Bachchan, Parineeti Chopra, Anupam Kher, Boman Irani and Danny Denzongpa in lead roles along with Neena Gupta and Sarika in prominent roles.[1]
Plot
The film revolves around the friendship of four senior citizens.

Production
Development
It was announced in October 2021 that Sooraj Barjatya will return to the director's seat after six years with Uunchai. Uunchai, like most Rajshri films, is expected to be a family drama, which revolves around the friendship of senior citizens.
Casting
It was announced that Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher, Boman Irani and Danny Denzongpa will play the lead roles of four friends along with Neena Gupta in an important role.
It was later announced that Parineeti Chopra will play the lead role of a tourist guide in the film. Sarika and Nafisa Ali joined the cast in prominent roles.[12]
Television actress Sheen Dass was cast to play Neena Gupta and Boman Irani's daughter and Television actor Abhishek Singh Pathania was cast alongside Dass. The cast also has Nepali actors in various roles.
Filming
The filming began in October 2021, with Parineeti Chopra, Anupam Kher and Boman Irani in Nepal. They shot at various locations including Mount Everest. They were later joined by Amitabh Bachchan and Danny Denzongpa in December 2021. The other cast joined in shortly.
In March 2022, Parineeti Chopra finished shooting for her part in the film.[13] The rest of the cast completed their shoot and the filming ended in April 2022.[14]
The film has been shot at various locations in Nepal including the world's most Dangerous Airport at Lukla and Kathmandu along with Kargil, Mumbai and Uttar Pradesh.[15]
Release
The film's official announcement was made on 30 May 2022. It is the 60th film under Rajshri Productions.[16]
