Michael J. Ashong (/ˈvɪʒ.ən/; born June 26, 1996, better known by his stage name as VSN, is a Ghanaian-Canadian rapper, producer, singer, and songwriter based in Ottawa, Ontario Canada.[citation needed]

Early life and education

VSN was born in Accra, Ghana[1], and moved to Canada to attend High School in 2009 at St. Mother Teresa Catholic High School in Ottawa. He later attended Carleton University in 2014 and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science[2] in 2019 while cultivating his career as a producer and recording artist.

Career

VSN is known not only for his visual and auditory storytelling but also for his music production abilities. His works have been described as being original and energetic portraying a high-class lifestyle narrative.[3]

VSN has been affiliated with Toronto Hip Hop and R&B Duo S4G4 as well as American Grammy-Nominated rapper, singer, and songwriter Guapdad 4000 as a credited producer in their hit single Rollin'[4]. VSN has also been featured on several notable media sources such as The New Hot 89.9 as a Local Love artist feature[5] as well as, but not limited to Hip Hop niche media blog Buzz Music Canada

In August 2022, VSN released his EP, Matters of the Heart, and followed the EP up in October 2022 with music video for the lead single named "Winter" which would be his first music video performance[6]

A month after, in November 2022, VSN released a full performance video for the Matters of the Heart EP showcasing the Parliament Hill as the main notable background throughout the performance video.[7]
