Vaidehi Taman is an Indian journalist, author and philanthropist. She is the founder and Editor-in-Chief of Afternoon Voice and The Democracy.

Taman receiving multiple awards for her excellence including the 7th Kalam Ke Sipahi.[1][2][3]

Early life and career[edit]

Vaidehi Taman was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Nagpur University. In 2021, Taman received a degree in International Law from International Business Management Institute, Berlin.

Vaidehi Taman started her career as a journalist in 2006 from Times of India (west side plus). In 2007 she worked with Free Press Journal as a Court correspondent and later joined The Afternoon Despatch & Courier as City Editor.[4]

In 2009, Taman launched the Afternoon Voice, an English-language daily newspaper and digital news media house based in Mumbai.

In 2021 Taman became the Maharashtra State President of the Newspapers Association of India.[5] In the same year, she also ventured into a Video news portal, The Democracy which was launched by the Governor of Maharashtra Bhagat Singh Koshyari.[6][7][8][9]

Taman has also published the books - The Abused, Sheriff of Mumbai, Mujhe Mera Kaam Karne Do, and Sikhism vs Sickism.
