History

Original Name

The band started out under the name "Chrihavoc" with members Evan Gori, Manny Hubbard, and Jack LaBatti on April 1st, 2017. Gori and Hubbard met through a Saratoga County 4-H club. Jack met Evan through issues with his first band Excentra. He was fired from the band and Evan turned down the lead vocals opportunity to form a new band. Chrihavoc had a couple originals written at the time and were looking to play some local open mics. Their two songs were called "Guardian Angel" and "Time Heals All the Wounds". The band later recruited bassist Anthony Carrol as a temporary member until they found a permanent one. Their first couple performances they played their two originals and did a lot of Metallica covers.

Second Name + Of Blessings and Curses EP

Members Jack LaBatti and Manny Hubbard went on hiatus in September 2017. Chino Osuna was invited to join the band in November 2017 and they changed their name to "My Prophecy". Anthony Carrol was replaced by Matt Charrette in January 2018. Manny Hubbard returned to the band around the same time. On February 22, 2018, My Prophecy released their debut EP with a total of 5 songs that included their two originals from Chrihavoc. With Jack being on hiatus, Tyler Shoemaker stepped in temporarily for tracking drums. The EP was recorded, mixed and mastered by Greyscale Recordings, a local audio engineering service owned by Shoemaker in Saratoga County, NY. On March 22, 2018 the band played their first gig at The Low Beat in Albany, NY with special guest Nicolo Marcucci filling in on drums for LaBatti. In June 2018, The band reissued their song "Time Heals All the Wounds" featuring special guest musicians Ashlee Devoe and Sophia Digioacchino on backing vocals. The song was later announced that it was supposed to be a tribute to Helena by My Chemical Romance. In July 2018, Chino Osuna was announced as fired from the band due to living long distance from the band.

The Repercussion + The Fall of My Prophecy

There have been several personal and financial issues going on with the band. In August 2018, Manny Hubbard and Matt Charrette announced their departure from My Prophecy. Lead Vocalist Evan Gori was not going to give up. He continued on with writing new music for the band. He hired two session musicians John Shahen on lead guitar and Joshua Zavadill as a session drummer to work on a full-length LP with Greyscale Recordings. Zavadill did not stay very long and Shahen stayed an official member until his departure in January 2019. Thanks to those musicians, the band could still go on. On October 5, 2018, the band changed their name to "Valenia" which is their current name as of today. Jack LaBatti has also returned after a semi-permanent hiatus to help finish up the album. On January 22, the band released their first debut album "The Repercussion". It was a concept album based in a time when the earth gets hit by a nuclear fallout and a demon apocalypse. The idea was to change their sound a bit and evolve into the metalcore genre and take influence from Crown the Empire. On February 17, the band announced Mark Barrett III to be their new lead guitarist. Later that same month the band reissued their album under the name "The Repercussion + The Fall of My Prophecy" as a deluxe reissue with the "Of Blessings and Curses EP" and a bunch of demos since the start of the band.
