Valerie Solanas
Valerie Jean Solanas (Ventnor City, April 9, 1936 – San Francisco, April 25, 1988) was an American writer, feminist and actress, author of the famous SCUM Manifesto and who became known for the attempted murder of Andy Warhol which led to her arrest, and incarceration, but was released under precaution, and then taken back for other crimes outside of Warhol.
Solanas also acted in a few films, and even wrote the screenplay for a 1976 adaptation of his SCUM Manifesto, which was also reduced to a pornographic scene acted out by a sex-positive feminist collective.[1]
She died in 1988, and has been portrayed in some films and television series, such as I Shot Andy Warhol and American Horror Story.
