Valukku Veli Ambalam, a Petty chief ruling Paganeri Nadu, one of the Kallar Nadus in the 18th century. He was known for fighting against the East India Company. Paganeri Nadu, situated in the Sivaganga district, Tamil Nadu.[1]
Soldiers of Valukku Veli Ambalam, which was a close friend of the Maruthu Pandiyar, were greatly aided in the war against the East India Company.
His involvement in the war with Velu Nachiyar and Maruthu Pandiyar is mentioned on page '151' in the Sivagangai Historical Ammanai.
He was assassinated on October 24, 1801, in the town of Kattappattu. In his memory, his brother Karuthappan was placed a Hero stone. The statue had a sword in one hand and spear in another hand.[2]
