VanMoof is a Dutch bicycle manufacturer, based in Amsterdam. The company creates and sells bicycles and electric bicycles distinguished by its unique design and integrated technology[5][6].

History[edit]

VanMoof is founded in 2009 by brothers Taco and Ties Carlier. The company sells its bikes online, and in their brand stores in Amsterdam, Berlin, London, New York, Paris, San Francisco, Taipei, and Tokyo.

In October 2017 VanMoof received a €4 million investment[7] from Slingshot Ventures and €2,5 million via a crowdfunding campaign on OnePlanetCrowd[8]

In April 2018 VanMoof launched a subscription service for their non-electric bicycles[9][10][11]. It currently is only available in cities where VanMoof has a store.

In June 2019 VanMoof received another €2,5 million via crowdfunding on OnePlanetCrowd.[3][12]
