Vanitha Miss Kerala is a beauty pageant in Kerala, India, organized by Vanitha, a leading Malayalam language women's magazine published by the Malayala Manorama group. The pageant aims to be a platform for young Malayali women to showcase their talent, intelligence, grace, and cultural heritage.
Arunima Jayan was crowned the inaugural winner of Vanitha Miss Kerala on March 15, 2025, at the CIAL Convention Centre in Nedumbassery.[1][2]
History
The Vanitha Miss Kerala pageant is organized by Vanitha, a Malayalam-language women's magazine published by MM Publications Ltd., a subsidiary of the Malayala Manorama Group.[3] In November 2024, Vanitha announced the launch of its inaugural beauty pageant under the branding "Kalyan Silks–Vanitha Miss Kerala: The Most Beautiful 2025".[4]
Precursors and Previous Miss Kerala Pageants
Although the 2025 edition marked the debut of Vanitha Miss Kerala under Vanitha's direct organization, the Miss Kerala title has previously been used by various other pageants conducted by independent organizers over the years, reflecting a broader history of similar contests in the state.
Femina Miss Kerala
In earlier years, Femina, a leading Indian women's magazine owned by The Times Group, organized a regional beauty contest titled Femina Miss Kerala. These events typically served as state-level qualifiers for national pageants like Femina Miss India.[5]
Miss Kerala by Other Organizers
Before the debut of Vanitha Miss Kerala, several independent organizations conducted pageants under similar or identical titles. Among the most prominent was Impresario Event Management Company, which organized the Miss Kerala pageant for multiple years. The 2021 title was awarded to Gopika Suresh under Impresario's organization.[6]
Debut of Vanitha Miss Kerala
The Vanitha Miss Kerala pageant, first held in 2025, represents a new initiative directly organized by Vanitha magazine. While this edition is presented as a debut, the magazine has previously conducted beauty-related events such as Vanitha Glam Queen (e.g., in 2019) and Vanitha Cover Face,[7] which featured grooming and personality contests for women.
