Varisha Khan
Varisha Khan is a Pakistani-American[1] city councilmember in Redmond, Washington. She is one of the first two Muslim women elected to any office in Washington state, and one of three Muslims of any gender.[2][3][4] Khan was born in Dallas, and grew up in Redmond or adjacent Woodinville (sources vary).[5] She is a University of Washington graduate,[6] and has worked as a community organizer and attorney.[7]:15 She was one of eight electors in Washington State's electoral college delegation in 2016 who voted for Hillary Clinton, while a University of Washington student.[7][8][9]
