Variyavan is a 2018 Indian Independent Tamil fantasy - thriller film written and directed by Karthik Gopal. It was planned to be as inexpensive as possible since group of friends collectively produced it from their monthly salary under the Pen and Mind Pictures. It was directly released in online platform Amazon Prime [1] (US and UK) on November 2018 and got critical acclaim from reviewers and audiences. It is going to be released in India through the legal online platform.
Synopsis[edit]
This story about a book seller who is having insecure feeling to face the competitive society with his poor economical background and he is timid and afraid to face his day to day issues due to his insecure mindset.
The films revolves how this poor book seller getting courageous mind to face his problems through the struggles.
Plot[edit]
This story about Inbasekaran who is a book seller and having insecure feeling toward his economical background and afraid to face his regular problems. Bharathi who is helping Inbasekaran to manage his regular activities.
One day Unknown Person called X met an accident and died due to Inbasekaran's careless mistake. Inba wants to help Unknown Person X to achieve unfulfilled dreams by having his soul into his body for every night in a month. Finally X making troubles to Inbasekaran and Bharathi.

Production[edit]
The film was produced by Gowtham Ragul and Elaya Bharathi of Pen and Mind Pictures. After making six short films, Karthik Gopal decided to make independent feature film with minimal budget. He written the Variyavan script with minimal character and limited locations to be inexpensive as much as possible.
Release[edit]
It was directly released in online platform Amazon Prime (US and UK) on November 6th 2018 and got critical acclaim from reviewers and audiences. It is going to be released in India through the legal online platform.
Critical reception[edit]
Variyavan received highly positive views upon digital release and screened in various film festivals across the world. Critics were particularly appreciative of the performances of the protagonist Parthy KL and the supporting cast, and the film's direction.
