Velammal is a 2021 Indian historical fiction television show that aired on Vijay TV from 12th April 2021 and streams on Disney+Hotstar.
It went off air on 10th June 2021 due to COVID-19 pandemic in India and it didn't returned due to unexpected ratings. It was replaced by Thamizhum Saraswathiyhum
Plot[edit]
The show is based on the life of Rani Velu Nachiyar (3rd January 1730 – 25th December 1796) was a queen of Sivaganga estate from c.1780–1790. She was the first Indian queen to wage war with the East India Company in India. She is known by Tamil as Veeramangai. This serial is portrayed about a girl who was born into a royal family where her parents doesnt accept her and how she becomes a warrior.

- Mouna Raagam serial fame Krithika Khelge was casted for the female lead role of Velammal.
- Actress Muktha was cast in the supporting role of Umayal, who previously appeared in Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil and Kannada films.
- Ambika entered the show as the main antagonist.
- While Vignesh, Reshma Pasupuleti, Sampath Ram and OAK Sundar were also selected for pivotal roles.
