Vendasta is a privately held software company founded in 2008 in Saskatoon, Canada by Brendan King[1][2], Jeff Tomlin[3], Allan Wolinski[4][5], Jason Collins, Guy Kelsey, Ches Hagen[6] and John Fothergill and funded by Victoria Park Capital, Vanedge Capital and BDC Venture Capital.[7][8][9]

Vendasta develops a white-label software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform and marketplace for local business solutions, provided through a network of resellers in North America, UK and Australia and has contributed to rapid growth in Saskatchewan’s tech sector[10][11][12][13][14], nicknamed “Silicon Prairie”[15] and “Saskatchewan Valley.”[16]

Vendasta was the first company in North America to combine online marketing and sales technology with cloud marketplace technology.[17]

The company has also received an interest-free loan from the Government of Canada, as part of the Western Economic Diversification Canada and the Western Innovation (WINN) Initiative.[18]

Vendasta is a member of the Google Customer Advisory Board[19][20][21] and has created a white-label advertising and marketing platform.

Vendasta was founded in 2008 by Brendan King, Jeff Tomlin, Allan Wolinski, Jason Collins, Guy Kelsey, Ches Hagen and John Fothergill in Saskatoon, SK, Canada.[22]

In 2008, the company received $3 million in first-round funding from Victoria Park Capital for the development of MyFrontSteps, a social networking service to help people improve their homes. [23] Vendasta’s first customers were newspaper and yellow page companies in 2010, which were experiencing revenue drops.[16][24]

In 2013, the company secured another $8.25 million in venture funding from Vanedge Capital[25] and BDC Venture Capital[26][27].

In December 2016, the company received a $3.34 million interest-free loan from the Government of Canada, as part of the Western Economic Diversification Canada and the Western Innovation (WINN) Initiative.[28][29][18]

In 2016, Vendasta ranked #49 on the Canadian Deloitte Technology Fast 50 list with a 252 percent in revenue growth from 2012 to 2015.[30][31]

In 2017, Vendasta was accepted into the second cohort of the ScaleUp program by The Lazaridis Institute in Waterloo, Canada.[32]

In 2017, Frankly Inc. announced a strategic partnership with Vendasta and First Joint Customer[33] and Yext announced partnership with Vendasta[34]
