Vidya Varadarajan is an Indian children's author.[1] based in Bengaluru. She is known for her AKA Detective Series, a middle-grade mystery series set in contemporary India, and her picture book My Blue Elephant published by Scholastic India. Varadarajan was born in California and raised in Chennai. She holds a postgraduate degree in communications and began her career in advertising as a copywriter. With over 18 years of experience, she co-founded a communications agency in Bengaluru.[4]

My Blue Elephant (2019)
Varadarajan's debut picture book, My Blue Elephant,[5] was published by Scholastic India in 2019. The story is about a girl who hides an elephant in her room.[6]
