Vincent Ryan Rompies (born March 29, 1980)[1] is an Indonesian musician, presenter, actor, and comedian. He used to be a bassist in Clubeighties, and now plays bass for The Cash and Goodnight Electric. He is also a member of motorcycle group, The Prediksi, led by Indonesian comedian and singer, Andre Taulany.
Career
Music career
Vincent started his career through Clubeighties, an Indonesian band formed by Cliffton Rompies (older brother), Desta (his future comedian partner), Ytonk, and Lembu. It was formed when they were still at Jakarta Art Institute. The band released four albums.
After his departure from Clubeighties, together with Tora Sudiro and Deddy Mahendra Desta, he formed a punk band named The Cash and released a single titled Diet.[2]
In 2020, Vincent joined a synth pop band, Goodnight Electric.[3]
TV Host and Acting Career
Once a TV host in multiple TV programs such as Ramadhan di Istana (together with Desta), he also worked for 96.7 station Hitz FM, Jakarta as a radio host. Some of the TV programs that he hosted are MTV Bujang, Gocek, Ensiklomedi (broadcasted by Trans 7) and Radio Humor 77. He also hosted Etis Gak Eighties, a TV program with all of his band mates.
Vincent started his acting career with a small role as Gerry, the second lead actress's boyfriend in Mendadak Dangdut. In 2009, Vincent played in six movies: Krazy Crazy Krezy, Wakil Rakyat, Preman In Love, Kalau Cinta Jangan Cengeng, Kawin Laris, and Benci Disko. He also landed a role as Syamsuri in the comedy TV series, Keluarga Masa Kini.
Vincent was an MC in Indonesia's Got Talent. He also presented some TV programs such as the quiz show Super Game, the talk show Campur-Campur together with Desta and Melaney Ricardo (both broadcasted by ANTV), and the reality show Ups Salah by Trans 7. Vincent received a Panasonic Gobel Award in 2012 for Best Reality Show Presenter.
Since 2014, together with Desta, Hesti Purwadinata and Enzy Storia, Vincent has been presenting Tonight Show, a variety show broadcasted by NET.
Vincent and Desta also established The Pretty Boys Pictures, a production house, and released a movie titled Pretty Boys in which both of them act as lead actors.
In 2019, both Vincent and Desta received a Line Award for Entertainer of The Year.
