Aufa Dien Assagaf (born Agust 19, 1997) better known as Aufa Assagaf is an Indonesian actor[1]. He began to be known thanks to his role in the film Cahaya Dari Timur: Beta Maluku in 2014 as Hari Zamhari Lestaluhu[2].

Early life[edit]

Aufa Dien Assagaf was born from a family of Arab descendants in the Maluku Islands. His father and his mother, Muhammad Assagaf and Farwah Assagaf were an Arab-Indonesian muwallad[note 1] surnamed Assegaf (Arabic: السقاف‎, romanized: al-Saqqāf).

Education[edit]

Aufa is a graduate of SMA Negeri 11 Ambon who graduated in 2014. In 2012 he represents Maluku province as the National Flag Hoisting Troop at the 67th anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia at Merdeka Palace[3].

In 2015, he continued his education to Gunadarma University in departement of Informatics Engineering.

Career[edit]

Aufa started his career in the field of filmography in 2014 while he was still in third grade school in SMA Negeri 11 Ambon and following casting film Cahaya Dari Timur: Beta Maluku among students of Ambon. The film is lifted from the true story of a number of teenagers who love to play soccer. Aufa's role is as Hari Zamhari Lestaluhu and acting as team captain [4].

Thanks to the hard work of the entire film crew and other actors such as Chicco Jerikho and Shafira Umm, the film Cahaya Dari Timur also received an award at the 2014 Indonesian Film Festival[5].

In 2016, Aufa Assagaf is involved in the production of Lola Amaria film titled Jingga[6]. The film tells the life story of the blind, Aufa plays a Magenta who is blind because of the mistake of giving medicine[7].

In addition, in 2017 Aufa also played in the film 'Filosofi Kopi 2: Ben & Jody' as Aldi[6].
