Vincy Sony Aloshious[1] (born 12 December 1995) is an Indian film actress who works in Malayalam films. She was a contestant of the 2018 Malayalam talent-hunt reality show Nayika Nayakan.[2] She made her feature film debut as the heroine in the 2019 Malayalam comedy-drama film Vikruthi, opposite to Soubin Shahir.[3]

Early life

Vincy Aloshious was born as Vincy P.A on 12 December 1995 in Ponnani in Malappuram of Kerala. Her father Aloshious was a driver. Her mother Sony was a teacher. Her brother, Vipin works abroad.[4] She completed her high school education from Bishop Cotton Girls High school.[5] She pursued a bachelor's degree in artitecture from Asian School of Architecture.[6]

Career

Vincy was the runner-up of 2018 talent-hunt show Nayika Nayakan telecasted on Mazhavil Manorama.[7][8][9] She appeared in an advertisement as a pregnant lady along with Manju Warrier following the success of the show.[10] She hosted the dance reality show D5 Junior on Mazhavil Manorama in 2019.[11]

Her popularity from Nayika Nayakan paved way[12] to her feature film debut in 2019 with a leading role in Vikruthi opposite Suraj Venjaramood and Soubin Shahir.[13][14] Her portrayal of Zeenath; girlfriend turned wife of Sameer, played by Shahir received positive reviews.[15]

She played Shalini, a receptionist in the 2021 film Kanakam Kaamini Kalaham directed by Ratheesh Balakrishnan Poduval.[16] Her performance generally received positive reviews.[17] Though Shruthi Hemachandran of Filmibeat was more critical about her performance and commented: "at some point in time the character portrayed Vincy Aloshious seemed confused and even lacked depth".[18]

Her third release was Bheemante Vazhi in which she played Blessy, a pet owner’s daughter who is in an affair with Bheeman played by Kunchako Boban.[19][20] Arun George of OnManorama called her character a "memorable cameo".[21]

She appeared in Karikku mini-series Kalakkachi in 2021.[22][23] She also played the title character in the 2022 webseries Emily.[24] She played Emily, who becomes a psychopathic killer due to years of clinical depression. Reviewing her performance, The New Indian Express wrote: "Vincy’s transformation from a frightened woman who faces her killer to a psychopath who kills her own brother is a testimony to her versatility",[25] while The Times of India thought she "proves her acting mettle".[26]

Upcoming films

She has completed shooting for supporting roles in Saudi Vellakka,[27] and Jana Gana Mana.[28] She plays a 25-year-old woman domestic help who falls for a 40-year old unmarried man in Pazhanjan Pranayam currently on post-production stage.[29] She is also slated to appear in the delayed Lal Jose directorial Solamante Theneechakal starring the finalists of Nayika Nayakan in which she plays a women civil police officer.[30][31] She is additionally to star opposite Sharaf U Dheen in Senna Hegde's 1744 White Alto.[32][33]
