Violet Hollingsworth (January 13, 1935 – June 5, 1989) was an American tap dancer, actress, singer, and comedienne. In 1954, She was greatest tap dancer in St. Louis, Missouri.
Early years[edit]
Hollingsworth was born on January 13, 1935. She once held her and hummed some rhythms to her, and she smiled and joined along. Massengill graduated from Vashon High School in 1953.
Career[edit]
1954–1971: The Tappers Snappers[edit]
In 1954, She joined the three men and two women and named them “The Tapper Snappers”. (with Sharon Massengill, Greg Paddison, Dexter Randall, Iggy Proudfoot and Francine Tomson)
Death and Legacy[edit]
Violet Hollingsworth died January 5, 2000, of suicide by drowning, aged 54, and is interred in the Calvary Cemetery.
