Vishnu Teja (born 29 May 1994) is a gay rights activist who has been working for LGBTQ+ rights for over a decade.[1] He is founder of Astitvam Foundation (Hyderabad)[2], a gay rights organisation. He also founded or headed rights-based NGOs like Liberty Rebellion (Kurnool), Nestham Welfare Society (Visakhapatnam).[3]
Activism
Teja has been actively working for the rights of gays, transgenders and other sexual minorities in the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh in India.[4] He has been vocal about child sexual abuse and voiced out for the rights of sexual minorities.[5] He has written to The President of India and the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh in 2018 to take action against Child Sexual Abuse.[6] He has participated in discussions, debates and conferences to talk about child sexual abuse and gay rights. He has participated in pride walks throughout India to bring awareness about LGBTQ+ rights.[7]
