History[edit]

Early Days(?-2006)[edit]

At first, Dan played in several classical orchestras and bands.[2] After graining skills of his own, Dan soon started composing original music and from 2005 he eventually began to produce his own works.[2]

Working on remixes and Joining the Fixt Roster (2007-2010)[edit]

At first he worked with basic MIDI sounds.[3] During that time Dan came across a song by Celldweller (The Last Firstborn). Being impressed, he eventually stumbled upon a remix contest held for a Celldweller song called "Frozen".[3] This was the first time Dan worked on remixing a song.[3] Although this remix didn't gain much fame, he kept working on remixing other songs.

Later Voicians stood first in the FIXT remix competition for Subkulture's single "Erasus" and Celldweller's "The Lucky One" and third place in Celldweller's remix competition for "Switchback" and "Louder Than Words".[3] This remixes gave Voicians both fame and a fan base.

After that he sent demos to James Rhode, the manager of FiXT. Eventually they signed him in.[3]

On 27 November 2008, he released his first album/EP The Inner Frame.[4] It featured vocals from his fellow musician Joulz.[5] Next year his second EP called Shift was released on September 1, 2009.[6] It had a cover of Celldweller's song '"Goodbye" which was a bonus song to the album.[7]

In July 2, 2010, Voicians released his first full-length album, escApe.[8] The album had 15 tracks and featured other artists - Martin Harp and Joulz.[8] FiXT hosted a remix competition in August for a song ("Loner") from the album.[9] The remix compilation album was released next year on 18 January.[10]

Release of "A Matter of Time(Part 1)" and other singles and EP (2011-2013)[edit]

In August 1, 2011, Dan released his first independently released (compilation) album - Revealing Tunage, Volume 1.[11] It contained various tracks from past albums, alternate mixes and covers.[11]

In 2012, Voicians collaborated with Venezuelan keyboardist Zardonic and electronic music artist Paul Udarov. This would spawn two well-known tracks respectively "Bring Back The Glory" and "Inside".

In the same year Dan independently released his third EP - A Matter of Time (Part 1). It was released in 18 June. This would pave the way for his full-length album.

Next year Colors was released on 24 September.[12] It was his fourth EP and contained 6 instrumental tracks and a single vocal version of the title song.[12]

The release of the sophomore album and Colors II (2014-2016)[edit]

The second studio album was released in 28 January 2014 and was the full version of the third EP.[13] Therefore, it was titled A Matter of Time.

In August 28, 2015 Dan released his self titled fifth EP - Voicians (Part I).[14] Next year on July 8, Dan released his third studio album and the sequel to the Colors EP, named Colors II.[15] It had 10 tracks and all of them were instrumentals.

"Wasteland" and Live concerts (2017-2018)[edit]

Voicians released his 4th studio album Wasteland. Although independently released, it was again released under FiXT with a bonus track on 23 April 2017.[16] The deluxe edition was released on Spotify.

In 6 June, another studio album Impro Piano I , was released.[17] It had 12 tracks and all of them were instrumental.[17]

A separate album containing the instrumental version of the tracks of Wasteland were released 23 February 2018.

Dan started playing live since 2018.[3] He has played live in the Liquicity Festival near Amsterdam and other places like Heidelberg, Lierop etc.[18][3]

Voicians was listed in the "Best Vocalist" category in the Breakbeat's 2019 DnB awards.[19]
