The WALY or Well-being Adjusted Life Year (occasionally called HLY or Happy Life Year) is a unit of subjective well-being used in happiness economics.[1] [2]
It is equivalent to the WELLBY (see for further details), except that 1 WALY = 10 WELLBYs.
A related unit, the QALY (Quality-Adjusted Life Year), only deals with health, not other aspects of well-being.
