(born January 23, 1977 in the village of Qabrit in the city of Fuh) is an Egyptian writer, novelist and short story writer. She obtained her bachelor from the Department of Arabic Language from the Faculty of Arts at Tanta University, Kafr El-Sheikh branch in 1998. She is a member of the Egyptian Writers Union, the Arab Writers Union and the Afro-Asian Writers Union, and a member of the Story Club[1].

Wafaa writes in the short story and the novel, and addresses in her writings her view of the world, where social oppression overlaps with political and economic oppression.[2] Her writing was known as controversial, as it reveals what is kept silent in society, deviates from the conventional narrative mechanisms, records her view of the world, passes facts through what she writes, and writes realistic stories, despite her belonging to the world of imagination more than reality. She has published many literary works, most notably Mahra Without a Knight in 2006 with its first and second editions; and the novels Half Traitorous, The Lady of the Moon, The Crown of the Fairies, and the short story collection Men for Love Only and Cinderella Barefoot, for which she won second place in one of the Writers Union Awards.[3]
