Wajid Akhtar (Urdu: واجد اختر; born July 1984) is an English singer-songwriter signed to IQRA Promotions.
Early life[edit]
Akhtar was born and brought up in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. He comes from a Muslim family of Asian origin. After he left school, he began to write and sing many of his own nasheeds. He then went on to perform his nasheeds locally.
Career[edit]
In April 2008, Akhtar performed with the Kaiser Chiefs at the Love Music Hate Racism festival in Victoria Park, London. In September 2008, his debut album Show Me the Way was released by IQRA Promotions along with his first music video "I Need Your Help".[1]
