Lukwago Tonny,[1]professionally known as Waya Boy,[2][3] is a Ugandan musician[4][5] and singer-songwriter. He gained attention following the release of his song "Bugingo",[6] which was associated with the Aloysius Bugingo controversy.

He is also known for blending traditional rhythms with modern styles.[7]

Early Life and Education

Waya Boy was born on September 4, 2001. He attended St. John Bosco Katende for his primary education and later joined St. Maria Gorretti Secondary School Katende and Bukland High School for his collage.[8][9]

Music Carrier

Waya Boy has released several songs,[9] including Hullo, Bujingo, Fire Girl, For You, Omusheshe, Party Time, Busuufu and "Bwempooma."[10] Growing up surrounded by music,[11] he started recording his music using FL Studio and a Nokia cell phone,[12] performing at gatherings and after-school events; afterwards, he worked as a peddler before focusing on music full-time.[1][13]
