Wen Li (space physicist)
Wen Li is an assistant professor of Astronomy at Boston University. Her research interests include space plasma waves, Earth's radiation belt physics, solar-wind magnetosphere coupling, energetic particle precipitation, and Jovian magnetosphere and aurora:[1].
Education[edit]
In 2005, Wen Li received her B.Sc. in Geophysics from the University of Science and Technology of China. In 2007 and 2010, she got her M.S. and Ph.D. in Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Career[edit]
In 2005, Li became a graduate research assistant at UCLA. While still at UCLA, Li became a postdocdorate researcher in 2010, then an assistant researcher in 2012, and finally an associate researcher in 2016.[2]
Later in 2016, Li moved to become an assistant professor at Boston University, where she works presently.
Scientific Contributions[edit]
Li is currently working on a number of research projects, including[3]
- Characteristic and Generation of Various Earth's Magnetospheric Waves
- Quantifying Energetic Particle Precipitation Driven by Magnetospheric Waves
- Modeling Earth's Radiation Belt Electron Dynamics
- Jovian Radiation Belt Particle Dynamics and Aurora
- Understanding the Relation Between Various Solar Wind Drivers and Earth's Inner Magnetosphere
