The What The Future Holds Tour is the tenth concert tour by British group Steps. It was announced by the group in 2020 and launched on 2 November 2021, in Sheffield, England. It was originally scheduled to end on 1 December 2021, in Bournemouth, England, but the final two dates of the tour were delayed to summer 2022 due to Covid-19 cases in the touring party.[1]
Critical reception
The show received generally positive reviews from critics. Dave Simpson, writing for The Guardian, gave the show 4/5 stars, saying the show was a "Two-hour set of joyously choreographed hits showcases a band who look to be having almost as much fun as their audience".[2] Pip Ellwood-Hughes, writing for Entertainment Focus, gave the show a positive review, saying "Throughout the show Steps looked as ecstatic as their fans to be back in an arena, and the energy was electric all night."[3]
Covid-19 cases and delay of final two shows
On 19 November, Faye Tozer announced she had tested positive for Covid-19 and would miss that night's show in Leeds and all others until her 10-day isolation period ended on 27 November.[4] On the same day Tozer returned, Lee Latchford Evans confirmed he had tested positive and would miss the remaining shows.[5] On 29 November, Steps announced the last two days of the tour had been pushed back to summer 2022 due to more positive cases in the touring group.[6] It is currently unknown if the setlist will stay the same.
