White Mountain Castle Publishing, LLC is a private publishing company in Hawaii.

History[edit]

White Mountain Castle Publishing originated in 1996 under the non-profit organization Jesus Christ Is Calling You Evangelistic Ministry, Inc. with Paradise Calls: Spellbinding Story of Hawaii's Evangelist,[1] an autobiography featuring the survival story of Danny Yamashiro.[2] In 2008, American Olympic Judo champion Kevin Asano's[3] autobiography, Step Onto The Mat: Journey To True Success was published. A feature in the Honolulu Advertiser highlighted the book release.[4] In 2009, the autobiography of Hawaii philanthropist Jimmy Yamada, Jr.,[5] God's Hand in the Life of an Electrician was published. More than 50,000 copies were distributed.

By 2011, the company published an updated and revised edition of Danny Yamashiro's story titled Paradise Calls: A Spellbinding Story of Survival and Hope From Hawaii's Evangelist,[6] that preceded his move to Cambridge, Massachusetts from Honolulu, Hawaii to conduct research on George W. Bush at Harvard University where he was written about in an article that featured his work as a radio talk-show host.[7] He delivered the Harvard Extension School Commencement Address in May of 2017.[8] Yamashiro is now a chaplain at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).[9] White Mountain Castle Publishing is delivering Yamashiro's third autobiographical edition (2023) that is endorsed by New York Times bestselling author, Stephen Mansfield.

In 2008, the year Kevin Asano's autobiography was published, he was inducted into the USA Judo Hall of Fame[10] along with Edward Liddie, Mike Swain, and Jimmy Pedro. Asano is also a member of the Hawaii Sports Hall of Fame 2000 inductees[11] and a member of the San Jose State University Sports Hall of Fame.[12] In 1988, Asano was named the US Olympic Committee's US Judo Athlete of the Year.
