Using integrations to (Point of Sale) POS systems their platform enables retail patrons to pay via their mobile phones through a unique code. They make use of USSD, app, mobi-site and SMS systems. [3]Founded in 2007 by CEO, Bevan Ducasse wiGroup, originally wiWallet, was responsible for Africa’s first credit card linked Mobile Payment. The company currently service over 75 000 till and have enabled more than 40 POS integrations and created a digital payments platform which services nearly 14 000 stores for large retailers, Hospitality, Financial Services and Telco industries. They have been operating for over ten years and are based in Cape Town, South Africa.

mCommerce[edit]

[4]Known as mCommerce this service enables the buying and selling of products through handheld devices and is the next generation to eCommerce. wiGroup specifically offer a delivery and order systems built primarily for QSRs. Specialising in two differing mCommerce types, the company offers Order Ahead pick up and Under an Hour delivery services. Order Ahead, driven through a retailer-specific mobile app, is an order and tracking system which customers order through and are able to collect their purchase in-store at a specified time. Under an Hour delivery means customer can choose products from multiple retailers and the order via a mobile app. Once packed the order is delivered via a third-party driver to the customers specified address.

Loyalty & Rewards[edit]

Digital loyalty and rewards services are offered to businesses to replace card-based loyalty programs. WiGroup’s loyalty and rewards services create reward campaigns using payments with digital vouchers, coupons and loyalty value all activated through a code. The cloud-based product analyses basket data and determines if the product or SKU level deals are present. Retails are then able to run rewards and personalised loyalty programs at scale across retail and hospitality stores.

Data & Analytics[edit]

wiGroup’s data warehouse uses information gained through Loyalty & Rewards, mCommerce and payment services and gives clients access to: Acquisition & engagement tracking, standard and adhoc reports, behaviour tracking that pulls redemption rate, in-store and mobile channels data as well as real-time data on transactions and brand engagement.

International Expansion[edit]

[6]Since Investec UK's stake purchase of a threshold amount of $10 million in 2015, wiGroup begun trading in several African territories such as Nigeria, Zambia, and Namibia, and has established partnerships in Ghana and Kenya. The company has also established an office with 20 employees in Mauritius. Recent expansion includes UK, France and Holland markets.
