WillowTree is an American mobile application design and development company headquartered in Charlottesville, VA with offices around the globe. WillowTree creates software applications for companies ranging from startups to Fortune 500. [1][2][3] Offices are located in Durham, Columbus, New York, Boston, and Porto Alegre. The company designs and develops digital products and services for businesses and non-profit organizations.

History[edit]

The company was founded in 2008 by Michael Prichard and Tobias Dengel.[4]

As of 2018, the lead investor in the company is Insignia Capital.[5]

In November of 2019, WillowTree purchased Ohio-based Dynamit Technologies.[6]

WillowTree grew significantly in 2021 with two merger and acquisitions. In Sept, WillowTree acquired Boston-based Maark[7] and in November Brazil-based Poatek.[8]
