History[edit]
Chartered on October 17, 1872 by the Grand Lodge of Kansas of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons (A.F. & A.M.), Winfield Masonic Lodge #110 is located at 106 E 8th Avenue in Winfield, Kansas.[1]
On August 14, 1902, two Winfield, KS Masonic Lodges petitioned the Grand Lodge of Kansas to consolidate. The consolidation would consist of Winfield Lodge #58 and Adelphi Lodge #110. On May 7, 1903 Adelphi Lodge #110 was renamed Winfield Lodge #110.
On February 17, 1920 Winfield Masonic Lodge purchased their current lodge building (S. H. Myton Building). February 2020 marked 100 years of continual ownership. In the same year, the iconic stained glass windows were installed on the second story. In December of 1920 dedication of the Winfield Lodge Building by Grand Master Hugh P. Farrelly was attended by 350 Master Masons, their wives and friends. Preceding the ceremony, a bounteous supper was served in the dining room with an orchestra providing the events entertainment.
By 1955, Winfield Masonic Lodge was reporting a roll of 450 Master Masons in its annual report to the Grand Lodge of Kansas.
On October 13, 2002, the Grand Lodge of Kansas and Prince Hall Freemasonry of Kansas were opened simultaneously on the 3rd Degree for the purpose of rededicating the lodge on the occasion of its 130th anniversary. A historic first for the two Grand Lodges.
