Woman before the Setting Sun

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Woman before the Setting Sun (German - Frau vor der untergehenden Sonne) or Sunset, Sunrise, Woman in the Morning Sun, Morning Light (Sonnenuntergang, Sonnenaufgang, Frau in der Morgensonne, Morgenlicht) is an 1818 oil on canvas painting by Caspar David Friedrich. It remained in family collections, including from 1905 by Johanna Friedrich, daughter-in-law of the artist's brother Heinrich. In 1930 it passed to Anna Siemsen, who seven years later sold it to the Gerstenberg GmbH in Chemnitz, who months later sold it to its present owner, the Museum Folkwang in Essen.
